ℹ️ How to Use This Calculator
A sleep cycle is a period of sleep that progresses through all the sleep stages (light sleep, deep sleep, and REM sleep). Each cycle lasts about 90 minutes on average. Waking up at the end of a sleep cycle (during light sleep) helps you feel more refreshed than waking up in the middle of deep sleep.
Example 1: If you need to wake up at 7:00 AM and want to know when to go to bed:
- Select "When to go to bed if I want to wake up at..."
- Set the wake-up time to 7:00 AM
- Select how long it usually takes you to fall asleep
- Click "Calculate Sleep Times"
Example 2: If you're going to bed at 11:00 PM and want to know the best times to wake up:
- Select "When to wake up if I go to bed at..."
- Set the bedtime to 11:00 PM
- Select how long it usually takes you to fall asleep
- Click "Calculate Sleep Times"
- Maintain a consistent sleep schedule, even on weekends
- Create a relaxing bedtime routine
- Keep your bedroom cool, dark, and quiet
- Avoid screens (phones, TVs, computers) at least 30 minutes before bed
- Limit caffeine and alcohol intake in the evening
- Exercise regularly, but not too close to bedtime
